The Levins

LEVIN WINES is a boutique, family-owned, organic winery that has been producing wine in the Loire Valley for 30 years.

David Levin, founder of The Capital Hotel, The Levin Hotel and The Capital Apartments in London, started growing his own grapes in the Loire Valley, France in 1985 to produce his own private label wines for his luxury hotels and restaurants.

David’s yearly travels to Australia had introduced him to many advances in agriculture and viticulture that were not then used in Europe.

So, he had a winery designed in South Australia and built in the Loire Valley, France. The state-of-the-art, tin shed winery was shipped to the Loire in 2003 and constructed on site by a team of South Australians.

Today, David’s wife, Lynne Levin, manages the domaine and the export of LEVIN all over the world. Melbourne-born, Lynne continues the Australian connection and can be seen presenting the wines at tastings at all corners of the globe.

The Levins’ village, flagship and premium cuvée wines are available in 14 countries and have won awards from Sommelier Wine Awards, Decanter Wine Awards and World Sauvignon Competition.

David and Lynne have also developed a collaboration with Frederic Brochet from Ampelidae, a likeminded, independent, family-owned, organic producer to share knowledge and resources.

David and Lynne Levin are committed to producing a world class Sauvignon Blanc in the Loire Valley, in its original home in The Loire.

LEVIN integrates modern winemaking, with the ancient terroir of the Loire Valley — a wonderful marriage of ‘new world’ and ‘old world’ — much like the Levins themselves.
